Nominations for Sport Awards Open

Charnwood is very fortunate to be blessed with a strong sporting history and community. The Charnwood Sports Awards celebrate the sporting success of individuals and teams throughout the Borough.
It is not just about recognising those who compete, they also celebrate the volunteers who give up their spare time to coach or those that often go unnoticed but work tirelessly behind the scenes to help a club run smoothly.

North West Leicestershire Local Sports Alliance will be hosting a celebration of sport and volunteering in the district with the NEW Sports Awards ceremony on Thursday 13th December. An electronic version of the nomination form can be completed at:

We have lots of categories for you to nominate a worthy candidate and some of these winners will then go on to be considered for the Leicester Mercury Awards in January.
The qualifying period for sporting achievements for nominations is between September 2011 and September 2012. Details of achievements outside of these dates will not be considered. Juniors are considered under 18 years during the qualifying period.
The closing date for entries is 2nd November 2012. The nominations are judged by a panel from the Local Sports Alliance.
